Editors, not a search engine.
We collect houses that have made up their minds — and write down what about.
CinCin is a register, not a directory. We sell no rooms, we broker no bookings, and no house pays to be listed. What is left is an editorial judgement — and the duty to give reasons for it.
We are travellers and editors. We spend time in the houses we recommend, usually more than one night, and we go back. New addresses are added slowly. When a house slips, we take it out again.

Four decisions
The Build
Who built the house, when, and what has survived. A house that writes over its own history does not make it in.
The Rooms
What it was furnished with, and how consistently. Few materials, well chosen, beat any collection.
The Table
What is served and where it comes from. A menu that can do everything usually does nothing.
The Cut
What is missing — and whether that was a decision. This is the field that separates the houses we take from the ones we don't.
Four steps, no algorithm
- A tip. From the field, from hosts, from readers, from our own travels. We follow every one.
- Research. Architecture, ownership, kitchen, how you get there, what guests report.
- A visit. Wherever possible unannounced and at our own expense.
- A second look. Every house is reassessed once a year.
We listen
If you run a house that has decided on something, write to us. We answer even when it is not a fit — with reasons.
