Our Story
Hotels, considered.
We started CinCin to collect places that feel personal, thoughtful and worth remembering.
What we do
A register, not a directory.
CinCin is not a booking engine and not an aggregator. We are a team of travellers and editors who spend considerable time at the properties we recommend — assessing them for design, food, hospitality and the harder-to-define quality of feeling genuinely special.
Our register currently spans 33 houses across Europe and beyond. Every property on our list has passed through the same rigorous editorial lens. We add new addresses slowly, and we remove them when standards slip.
Our process
How we curate.
Discovery
Tips from the field, reader letters, destination experts and our own travel. We follow every lead.
Research
We review architecture, ownership, menu, service approach, guest feedback and — wherever possible — visit in person.
Editorial assessment
We score against our five criteria: setting, design, food, hospitality and that hard-to-name quality of feeling truly considered.
Ongoing review
Every property is reassessed at least annually. We remove listings when they no longer meet our standard.
What we value
Five things we look for.
Setting
The relationship between a hotel and its location — whether that's a cliff above the sea or a courtyard in a medieval town.
Design
Spaces that feel considered rather than assembled. Furniture that belongs. Light that has been thought about.
Food
Kitchens that take the table seriously — from a baker's breakfast to a Michelin-starred dinner.
Hospitality
The presence of people who genuinely want you to have a good time. Not scripted, not over-managed.
Character
The thing that can't be replicated by a design brief. A hotel that has its own voice.
Who we are
Editors and travellers.
CinCin was founded by a small team with a shared conviction: that the best hotels are too often buried under algorithm-driven results. We set out to build a register that puts editorial judgement first.
Is your hotel on the list?
We're always looking for new addresses. If you run a hotel that meets our standards, we'd love to hear from you.
