The Story
Step Inn's defining feature is its terrace — a position in Stepantsminda from which Gergeti Trinity Church and the Kazbek summit are simultaneously visible. This is the sundowner spot in Kazbegi: Georgian wine, the light on the mountains, the church turning gold.
The bar serves Georgian wine properly — not just Saperavi and Rkatsiteli, but also the amber wines made in qvevri clay jars that make Georgian viticulture unlike any other in the world.
Signature Cocktails

Georgian amber wine
Made in qvevri — extended skin contact on white grapes, amber in colour, tannins you don't expect from white wine. Unlike anything else.

Saperavi red
Georgia's signature red grape — dark, full, with enough tannin to stand up to the mtsvadi. The wine of these mountains.
The Feeling
Feels like
The moment between hiking and dinner — Kazbek visible, wine in hand, the day settling.
Best time
Late afternoon, 5–7pm — the golden hour on the church
Music
The mountains. Occasionally something Georgian.
Perfect for
The CinCin Notes
Step Inn is where the Kazbegi day ends properly — wine on the terrace, the church and the mountain in view, the amber wine doing what amber wine does in the right setting.
If you haven't tried Georgian amber wine before, this is the place. Ask for the qvevri wine. Let them explain it.
