Craveiral sits in São Teotónio, in the municipality of Odemira — the heart of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. The park covers most of the coastline between Sines in the north and Sagres in the south — one of the largest protected coastal areas in Western Europe. Zambujeira do Mar (15 min) and Praia do Carvalhal (15 min) are the closest beaches. The Rota Vicentina — both the Fishermen's Trail and the Historical Way — runs through the area.
