Deep in the landscape of southern Istria, near Bale between Rovinj and Pula, lies Meneghetti Wine Hotel & Winery — a secluded wine estate grown out of an old Istrian stancija. Across some twelve hectares of vineyard and olive grove, the estate keeps its own slower time: rooms, suites, residences and villas in the region's white natural stone, a working winery, a spa and a restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide. A Relais & Châteaux house that draws its luxury from the soil, not the gesture.
The Build
Grown out of an Istrian stancija — stone houses around a courtyard, added to over the years instead of designed in one go.
The Rooms
Grown, not styled. Limestone, oak, linen; every house a little different, because each one came at a different time.
The Table
Own wine from twelve hectares, own olive oil from the groves behind. The kitchen cooks what grows two hundred metres away.

Classic Room
The most intimate of the rooms in the main house — Istrian natural stone, warm wood and quiet, earthy tones, finished with the restrained craftsmanship that runs through the whole estate.
Superior Room
A little more generous, opening to views over the estate's vineyards and olive groves. Natural materials, soft light.
Vintage Room
Set within the original stancija — historic Istrian stone walls carefully married to contemporary comfort. Full of character, and very quiet.
Vintage Suite
A suite in the historic part of the house, with a separate living area. Stone vaulting, natural textiles and the unhurried rhythm of the old farmstead.
Executive Suite
The most generous suite in the main house — a spacious living-and-sleeping ensemble looking out over the land. The quiet flagship of the room categories.
Estate Garden Residence
A self-contained residence with bedroom, living and dining space and a private garden with terrace — a small world of your own within the estate.
Meneghetti sits near Bale, a quiet town in southern Istria, set among vineyards and old olive groves — a secluded corner at the doorstep of the Mediterranean. The pretty coastal town of Rovinj is around 15 minutes away, Pula with its Roman amphitheatre about 25. The estate's own Adriatic beach club is reached by a short transfer. Pula airport is some 30 kilometres off; Trieste and its airport are around an hour and a half away.
Meneghetti grew out of an old Istrian stancija and follows one clear idea: to trust the land and the seasons. Vineyard, olive grove and bio-garden set the pace for the kitchen and cellar; the building holds to Istria's traditional materials and architecture — white natural stone, wood, quiet earthy tones. As a member of Relais & Châteaux, the house treats hospitality as something intuitive, personal and enduring: comfort without gesture, luxury without volume.
Kitchen and cellar
Meneghetti Restaurant & Bar
Meneghetti Restaurant & Bar is the culinary heart of the estate — recommended by the Michelin Guide, three toques in Gault & Millau. The kitchen follows the seasons and whatever the garden, vineyard and sea provide: Istrian produce, the estate's own olive oil, herbs from the bio-garden. The estate's wines are poured by a team that knows every vintage.
Oliveto
Tables under the old olive trees, open sky above. A short seasonal menu meant for sharing; lunch here runs longer than planned, and nobody hurries it. The oil on the table is the estate's own.
Beach Club
The estate keeps its own stretch of Adriatic, a short transfer away: a beach club with light Mediterranean cooking and the house wines. Swim in the morning, eat at noon, stay for the evening light. That is the whole programme.

No hotel first.
The working winery — some 40,000 vines and 700 olive trees, thirteen wine labels and an olive oil named the world's best in its category by Flos Olei. The land isn't a backdrop; it's the source the kitchen, cellar and day all grow from.
