Grand Hotel Tremezzo

The house

The Grand Hotel Tremezzo has stood on the western shore of Lake Como since 1910 — a Belle Époque palace that makes no effort to explain itself. Its familiar yellow facade reflects in the lake, the terraces look out over Bellagio and the surrounding mountains, and the floating pool — the T on the water — is one of the most recognisable images of the Italian lakes. The hotel has been run by the De Santis family for decades, with an intention that is rare today: personal, precise, without saying luxury too loudly. Greta Garbo slept here; the suite still bears her name. History sits in the walls — but the hotel moves with the time.

The T-Floating Pool — a swimming pool that literally sits on Lake Como, facing Bellagio. One of the most improbable and beautiful situations in Europe.

This house is listed, not in the register. We have not yet written its four decisions.
