The Build
A former higher administrative court, plus a new building behind it. The villa stayed a villa, the new building does not pretend to be old.

Villa plus new build, visibly separate. Library, foyer, high rooms — nothing was softened.

Old-growth trees became landscape architecture: the woodland-like park of around 2,365 square metres wraps the house with a terrace, a circular path and a fairy basin.

Suite La Maison
The eponymous suite among the three themed suites in the historic villa. Warm elegance, original shifts of perspective and details with the character of art objects — entirely in the spirit of the house.
Suite Chocolat
A themed suite in the historic villa, staged around its own motif. High ceilings, fine fabrics and the interplay of historic construction and modern design language.
Suite Ratatouille
The villa's third themed suite — francophile and told with a wink, furnished with pieces that are anything but the usual suspects.
Suite Étoile
A ground-floor suite in the guesthouse, just a stone's throw from the villa.
Conni Kotte Suite
A first-floor suite in the guesthouse, designed by Hamburg interior designer Conni Kotte, who also shaped the lobby, bar and LOUIS restaurant.

Saarlouis was founded in 1680 under Louis XIV as a fortress town and still carries his name — set close to the French and Luxembourg borders, its francophile streak is less a quotation than a neighbourhood. LA MAISON stands at Prälat-Subtil-Ring 22, a short walk from the old town. Saarbrücken Airport (SCN) is around 35 km away, Saarlouis train station 2.1 km, the nearest bus stop 0.8 km.
Owner Günter Wagner wants to create sociable encounters between people: "Everyone should feel welcome here." Business and leisure travellers, international gourmets, the French and Luxembourg neighbours and, of course, the people of Saarlouis — Wagner wants to bring them all together at LA MAISON. He sees the house's continued growth, most recently the spa, as a logical step: a complete experience from art to design, from culture to nature, from cuisine to wellness.
Kitchen and cellar
LOUIS restaurant
Set in the former courtroom with a terrace onto the park: chic but relaxed, elegant but unforced. Head chef Sebastian Sandor cooks an ambitious cuisine, rooted in tradition yet thoroughly modern. The standard on the plate is high — and still the room stays easy. Awarded 2 MICHELIN stars (Guide MICHELIN 2024 Germany), three red toques in Gault&Millau 2023 and nine pans in Gusto 2024.
PASTIS bistro & delicatessen
The bistro with its glazed winter garden radiates French savoir-vivre — easy, unforced and creative: French bistro tradition, international classics and a plat du jour at lunch. The adjoining PASTIS delicatessen offers house-made specialities and selected wines in the best artisan manner. Repeatedly recognised with the Bib Gourmand in the Guide MICHELIN; five pans with a bonus arrow in Gusto 2023.
LOUIS bar
A library with a terrace onto the park — a retreat for a glass before or after dinner. Quiet, well-read, looking out into the green.
