The house

In Stepantsminda, at 1,750 metres, there is a hotel that takes its location seriously. The Rooms Hotel Kazbegi is not a stopover on the way into the mountains — it is the destination itself. The architecture absorbs the character of the Georgian Caucasus: raw, precise, without unnecessary effort. From almost every room you can see Mount Kazbegi and, when the light is right, the Gergeti Trinity Church, balanced on its ridge as if placed there by hand. The hotel belongs to the Rooms Hotels family, a Georgian group that runs its properties with a distinct sense of place. In Kazbegi, that means: local highland produce on the menu, a restaurant worth visiting even for guests from the valley, and an atmosphere that sees mountain air and contemporary design as entirely compatible.
